Italian Weave to Wear
To deepen my understanding of woven fabrics and their later use, I focused on mastering sewing and pattern-making skills by constructing more complex garments from scratch. This process allowed me to analyze fabric structures closely, ensuring that cuts and seams aligned with the weave's natural properties, such as drape and tension. During my exchange semester at Politecnico di Milano, I applied these techniques by completing a jacket, carefully studying the woven material to ensure precision in both function and form, enhancing my knowledge of how weaving interacts with garment design.
